FAQs

Some common questions... If the answer isn't here then please message me.
  • What kind of photographer are you?

I am a candid photographer, also called reportage or documentary. They all mean the same. Basically, I record the day as a story, from start to finish.

I believe that the best shots are not posed, even if they look posed.

The best wedding photography is all about the inbetween, natural moments.

I understand some couples may be nervous in front of the camera. Don't worry... so am I! I will do my best to make you feel relaxed and enjoy yourself.

It's your wedding and I won't do anything that you don't feel 100% comfortable with.

  • How many images will I get ?

This is always a difficult one to answer as it depends on so many variables; the venue, the number of guests, the weather and more.

I estimate between 400-600 high quality images. You are paying me as the professional and I only select the very best pictures to present to you.

  • You are a candid wedding photographer, do you do Family/Group Shots at the wedding?

Yes I do. I totally understand that you want pictures with your whole group of family and friends.

All I ask is that you provide me with a list of the required group shots prior to the wedding.

Also, if any of your guests want a couple or a family photo during the day, that's no problem. Just grab me and ask.

  • How much is the deposit and when does the balance have to be paid?

The deposit is £150 and the remainder of the balance is due 6 weeks before the wedding. I am happy to take installments on the lead up to the wedding day in order to spread the payments as long as the balance is paid in full 6 weeks before.

I take payment via Bank Transfer and a receipt/invoice will be provided.

  • Are you insured?

Yes. I have public liability insurance up to £2,000,000 and professional idemnity insurance.

  • There are going to be children at the wedding. Are you DBS checked?

Yes. I am fully vetted and this can be provided on request.

  • Are you trained and do you hold any qualifications?

There is no required qualifications for a wedding photographer. Photography is an art and, as such, we don't have official qualifications.

However, to put my clients at ease and to show that I do have the required skills, I completed a Diploma in Wedding Photography from the Institute of Photography. This can be produced if required.

  • How do I secure your services?

If you wish to book, please send me a message to check if your wedding day is clear in my calendar.

If it is then, once you have paid the deposit and signed my online contract, my services are reserved for your chosen date.

  • What kind of equipment do you use and are the pictures kept safe?

I shoot with Canon cameras and will have two cameras on a harness during your wedding. In addition, I have a third as a backup in my bag/case.

I have invested heavily in my business and my cameras and lenses alone, not counting flashes and other items, cost over £10000.

Each of my cameras has 2 memory card slots and, every time I take a picture, the image is written to both cards. This is a failsafe incase of a card failure.

As soon as I get home from your wedding, all the images are downloaded to a Raid Array (multiple hard drives) and uploaded to the cloud for extra safety.

    I don't take any risks!

  • How are my pictures delivered?

All your edited images will be uploaded to a secure gallery for you to view, download or share on social media.  These are high huality image files and can be printed easily by online or high street photo labs as needed.

From 2021, I am no longer providing a USB stick with my packages. The online gallery offers a better client expereince . If you wish for your photos to be on a memory stick then this can be provided.

  • When will I get my images?

The gallery will be available for you within 2 weeks, often sooner.
